Intellect and Ego are interwoven, they can't be separated, in my Opinion.

 But as the light of Wisdom increases in Heart, strength of Ego diminishes. 

 However, that don’t mean, Intellect diminishes, No.... I don’t mean that 

Only Ego diminishes. 

Intellect remains the same, or even can be more sharpened 

As Intellect has its own existence apart from ego.

To understand that better, 

We can say that Intellect is the Soul and Ego is the body of ...
